Gradings

 

Below is a summary of the adult grading syllabus as set by the SKF.  The SKF has a system of Junior Grades for children to help them prepare for Kyu grades. The Junior Grades are as follows: White (Beginner), Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple and Brown. These are awarded by instructor.  Once a junior grade has obtained brown belt, they will follow a similar system the syllabus below, receiving appropriate coloured tags on brown belt.

8th KYU – Yellow Belt

KIHON, TSUKI & KERI (Basic Techniques)

  1. Junzuki turn in Jodan Uke – Straight punch, head block Left and Right
  2. Gyakuzuki turn in Gedan Barai – Opposite punch, low block Left and Right
  3. Maegeri – Front Kick
  4. Surikomi Maegeri – One step, Front Kick
  5. Mawashigeri- Roundhouse Kick
